.Hack - The games.

"The World"
An MMORPG which is literaly taking over the world. Everyone plays it; it's sold over 20million copies.
However, something is wrong, and players who die in "The World" end up in a coma in real life.
AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO STOP IT.

In the Infection series:
.Hack//Infection
.Hack//Mutation
.Hack//Outbreak
.Hack//Quarantine

You play as Kite. His friend Orca ends up in a coma and you're trying to save him after you discover a bug in the game and earn the ability to Data Drain.

In the G.U. Series:
.Hack//G.U. Vol. 1 Rebirth
.Hack//G.U. Vol. 2 Reminisce
.Hack//G.U. Vol. 3 Redemption

You play as Haseo, a PKK known as the Terror of Death searching for the infamous PK named Tri-Edge who put his friend, Shino, into a coma by PKing her.
This takes place a few years after the first game, and "The World" is now on version R:2, and the situation is eerily similar to the incident that happened in R:1.

And they have a new game coming out this year called .Hack//Link
I don't know much about it, besides it's for the PSP :P

Have any of you played these games?
I love them to death. They're addicting, and have such terrible cliff hangers D;

I wish I played them. I love .Hack, but I've never seen a game in person, which means nowhere around me sells them, as far as I know.

The games are hard to find.
Our G.U. Set was $60 but we could sell it for $120 easily?
The last game in the Infection series is expensive x.x
$60 or so? Maybe more? There are 4 games so it adds up.

I HATE CLIFF HANGERS HFAVYUFDSFAKSD RAAAEEEEGGGGGGG.

They're pretty fun. I can tell you now, if you dislike repetative things, you probably won't like it much xD I've stopped playing the Infection series because IT'S SO DAMN REPETITIVE. G.U. is a little less repetitive, but you do the same "events" every disc. Which isn't TOO bad, but it can get annoying. I like certain aspects from both games. The first set of games, you can run around and hack and slash monsters kinda like how you can in Kingdom Hearts. The second game is more like Final Fantasy mixed with KH battle-style wise.

Both games got rated low for repetitiveness, but G.U. is better with that xD;

BUT UM. IT'S LIKE... FINAL FANTASY MIXED WITH KINGDOM HEARTS (as if it already isn't lololol) With a unique bad ass story. C:
