| I'm wondering what you think should be done about the ever-spammy social chat thread. Please answer in the poll and add any comments in a post if needed. My preference is the fist option, but I want to know what the rest of you think.

| As I voted, I don't know. This is simply because any idea that I could come up with would either fail or just for the fact that no one would take me seriously.
But there's no point really in moderating it more closely because nobody will listen. Perhaps you should talk to those that post the most in there?
If you lock it, people will either spam or cry that their SPISHULZ thread was closed. :D so once again, i prove to be, for the most part, useless.

| I hate the idea of the Social Chat Thread altogether and think it's fucking retarded. D: It's just so slow and not instant and it de-motivates people from talking... well, most people.
I know you're saying nothing about a CB, but it was pretty useful on EPL. We could really talk, and instantly, too. However, it did detract from the forum activity, so that's probably a no.
...
But then again, what activity do we have now? Hardly any- It's mostly the Social Chat Thread and the ever-spammy video thread. (While we're on the subject of that, please do something about it as well. =.= Tons of videos that lag the page, and I hate to point fingers, but Haruka and Cucco, you post TONS of them. TONS. Please... just cut out some of them that we don't /really/ need to see? I hate to break it to you, but you're the only ones who really get/care about the Yume Nikki and Higurashi stuff.)
Only four or five people were on in the last 24 hours; like I predicted, the forum's beginning to die.
It's just not working out.

| Zan is right. I intended the social chat thread to be thoughtful discussion rather than random chatter. In my opinion, more people need to help promote discussion in the pokemon forums. I've made almost all of the topics there, and very few have gotten far. Maybe some events, giveaways, contests, or something would be helpful, but the best way to bring the forum back to life is for everyone to post more in the pokemon sections. I may just lock the chat thread unless there are any major objections. Talking about Yume Nikki = Yume Nikki thread in Video Games. Posting videos = video thread. Everyday life = IRC chat (if that comes along). There's not much that can only be discussed on the chat thread. As for the video thread... I dunno. Maybe I could make a limit on how many videos each person can post daily? -shrug- | |

| I don't know, and honestly I don't care a whole lot. We can always talk about normal crap through PMs and stuff, though it would be slower. An IRC chat might be helpful though, but decrease activity (but what Zan said, what activity do we really have now? x.x) Member News would be a good idea. But yes, the Social Chat Thread and Video thread are pretty spammy, and yeah I'm part of the problem, no real need to point fingers. We'll cut back. alakdjf;l;akjd/dontfeelliketypingmorenow | |

| The chat thread has been locked. Now, the next thing that needs to be done is something that I need everyone to do: post more in the Pokemon forums. I'll try to introduce some kind of contest to give people a reason to actually go there (even though everyone else can start discussions), and any of you are welcome and encouraged to make tournaments to bring the wi-fi section back from the dead. An IRC chat is still a possibility. | |
